CRAFTED IN A
DIFFERENT REALM

Founded in 2015, Miskatonic Brewing Company opened our first location and production facility in Darien, IL. Both our founders Josh and John had always hoped to open a full-service kitchen and brewpub in their own community of Naperville so they could bring the same thoughtful and welcoming spirit to food and cocktails that they had for years put into their beer.

JOSH MOWRY

Co-Founder and President

The Visionary. El Jefe. Forged by the American Brewers Guild. Josh is the co-founder and Demi-God of Bureaucratic Malevolence here at MBC. When not helping formulate new recipes and wrangling spreadsheets into submission, Josh is the dark figure lurking in the shadows, hoping to get you to try this new Danish boardgame where you play rival fishmongers. It’s totally fun, you guys…

JOHN WYZKIEWICZ

Co-Founder

The not-so-invisible hand. The oh-so-visible beard. John is also a graduate of the American Brewer’s Guild and cut his teeth at Goose Island and Gordon Biersch. You can find him in the back moving delicious liquid from place to place. When he’s not working, he’s likely at the end of the bar, arguing about the cultural and comedic significance of M*A*S*H (pre-Winchester) or sleeping…standing up…with his eyes open.

Jess Phillips

General Manager/
 Director of Operations

Jess, our Naperville GM and Malort Czar, has over 15 years of experience in the craft brewery industry. What started as a casual, part-time opportunity as she earned her Masters degree in Education, blossomed into a professional and personal passion. Throughout her career Jess has worn many hats including Beer Buyer, Taproom Manager, Outside Sales Rep, Distribution Coordinator and Assistant Brewer. Never leaving her education background behind, Jess leads our team on the key foundations of teamwork and respect and is committed to provide exceptional guest experiences through a great taproom atmosphere and a killer bar program featuring cocktails with Chicago’s favorite digestif.

Anthony cortez

Sous Chef

Tony dreams of becoming a great chef, despite being a rat in a definitely rodent-phobic profession. He moves to Paris to follow his dream, and with the help of hapless garbage boy Linguini he puts his culinary skills to the test in the kitchen but he has to stay in hiding at the same time, with hilarious consequences. Tony eventually gets the chance to prove his culinary abilities to a great food critic but is the food good?

mackenzie mooney

Bar Manager

Having experimented with the art of blending beverages since having unrestricted access to soda fountains in the 90s, Mackenzie decided to pursue it as a career path from a decidedly young age. After studying brewing, winemaking, distillation and various other forms of fermentation she ended up doing just about every job the brewery had to offer. Now she finds herself shaking up the various potions and poultices behind the bar, when she's not infusing bottles of Malört with delightful new ingredients.

chris gadomski

FOH Manager

Our very own “Vibe Curator”, Chris comes with almost a decade of hospitality and beer experience. He’s traveled the country and worked in breweries along the way, and although he hasn’t had a drink in almost four years, that doesn’t stop him from bringing the energy day in and day out to bring the best experience to all! You’ll always find him with a smile on his face and ready to help craft your next drink.
