Beers on tap

(Updated April 19, 2024)

Vox

German Pilsner 4.9%

A light, crisp, and super clean German Style Pilsner. Notes of cracker, subtle malt sweetness with a lingering floral noble hop character from start to finish.

WEST COAST WIZARD

West Coast IPA 6.3%

Classic resinous hop tones meld with impressions of ripe melon and peach in this bright, easy drinking West coast IPA. Get back to your roots!

JOINT EFFORT 5: RAIDERS OF THE LOST DANK

Collab with Skeleton Key Brewery
West Coast IPA - 7.6%

Your favorite collaboration with Skeleton Key Brewery is back. This year, we wanted to focus on some of the newer and unique hop varietals available: Nectaron, a citrus and tropical forward hop, and Alora, known for its unique oil compound Selinene. Look for a tantalizing blend of peach, yuzu, melon, and some sour diesel notes. We also included the old school hop Nugget for piney, bitter, and green herbal aromatics.

belbog

Czech-style Pale Lager - 3.9%

A respected deity of light and sun, is a 3.9% Czech Pale Lager. It starts with a softer water profile. Traditional floor malted Bohemian Pilsner malt, which gives intense earthy malt notes of biscuit and honey. The subtle yet beautiful Czech Saaz hops offer woodsy, earthy, and floral elegance. The backbone of any Czech Pilsner is a yeast that compliments its well-balanced light malty finish and subtle earthy hop bitterness. Combine all this with slow steady fermentation, spunded for a naturally carbonated beer, and lagered for months to bring out the best of this historically classic Czech Pale Lager.

APRICOT Long Tongue Liar

Kettle Sour w/ Apricot - 4.5%

A sweet, tart, and prickly kettle sour fermented with fresh
Apricot puree. We compliment the fruit with a whirlpool of
Comet, Green Bullet, and Motueka hops to add a nice
touch of lime zest, dark fruit, pine, and herbaceousness. A
light dry hop of Comet at the end of fermentation
accentuates even more sweet apricot and herbal
lemongrass. A most fitting beer for the time of year.

Forest crawler

Hazy IPA -7%

Forest Crawler Hazy IPA is back, perfectly balancing bright juicy flavors and piney resinous bitterness. This beer pours a rich hazy golden hue, with a creamy white head that lingers before settling into a beautifully laced glass. On the nose, expect aromas of ripe tropical fruits, including mango, pineapple, and tangerine, complemented by a hint of resinous citrus pith. A smooth and velvety mouthfeel with flavors of zesty tangerine, overly ripe pineapple, marmalade, apricot, and grapefruit engulf the senses. This hazy is an incredibly approachable and easy drinking beer for all hop heads. Cheers.

Red wizard

Imperial Red IPA - 7.8%

Red as the eye atop the tower. Deep ruby in color and featuring a pale tan head.  This Imperial Red IPA casts a piney hop bitterness that is immediately met with bold Carmel and biscuit notes and finishes its full bodied spell with hints of orange peel and other coniferous aromas. Deny this and you deny all magic.

Maelstrom

Baltic Porter - 8%

A style brewed for the long, cold, wet days. A dark mahogany color topped by a thick, creamy tan head. A robust plethora of flavors dance on your tongue. Caramel, chocolate, coffee, molasses, licorice, dried fruits, and a subtle roast

Spire

Double Hazy IPA - 8%

A mesmerizing hazy marigold color with a white fluffy head that emanates an alluring aroma of tropical fruit, including tangerine, tangy pineapple, ripe mango, and sweet grapefruit. These vibrant citrus notes intertwine with hints of dank pine, delicate earthy vanilla bean, and woody resin, creating a harmonious balance between the luscious fruit and clean bitterness that lasts throughout each sip. Spire will transport you to a world of where juicy, hoppy bliss reigns supreme.

VANTA

Schwazbier-style Lager - 4.6%

A roasted and malty aroma with hints of coffee, dark chocolate, and dark caramel. The first sip you’ll notice its smooth velvety mouthfeel. Pleasant sweet bready malt notes, smooth roast bitter chocolate, and clean hop bitterness complement the subtle roasty background.

Jabberbocky

Doppelbock-Style Lager - 8.7%

This German-style Doppelbock is a true classic that showcases the brewing traditions of Germany. A rich and malty beer with a deep copper/mahogany color and a thick, creamy head. It has a complex flavor profile that balances sweet maltiness with a subtle bitterness, creating a smooth and satisfying drinking experience. The aroma is filled with notes of caramel, toffee, and dark fruits, while the taste is reminiscent of toasted bread, dark chocolate, luxardo cherry, and a hint of molasses. Its robust flavors and high alcohol content make it a perfect beer for sipping on a cold evening or pairing with hearty foods.

pigloo

Barley Wine Ale - 10.5%

Collaboration with Flipside Brewing

Pigloo is every bit as warm, cozy, and crushable as it sounds, with a twist. Big rich multi-layered malty flavors with caramel, toffee, bready, dark fruit notes, and a kiss of chocolate on the back end. American and English hops were used with American hop upfront bitterness. Then we fermented with a blend of English yeast to give that classic fruity floral notes and German yeast to add that clean lager finish. Oh and throw in a step mash for the hell of it. Thus Pigloo is born.

St. henry

Abbey-Style Quadrupel Ale - 11%

A deep ruby, copper brew meets a pale tan head. Notes of luxardo cherry, with plenty of deep caramels and light bready aroma. Lots of dark plum, banana, fig, strong malty backbone. Subtle hint of white pepper and coriander spice in the back. Candied sweetness throughout the body. As beer warms, flavors are brighter, caramel flavors intensify, and there is some notes of chocolate covered raisins, complimented by more banana-y esters.

Dungeon Master: MINDFLAYER

Biscotti Imperial Stout - 11.5%

Indulge in the rich and decadent experience of
Mindflayer, a brew meant to tantalize the senses and
transport you to the quaint Italian cafes where biscotti
reign supreme. Its obsidian body is crowned with a
creamy tan head, reminiscent of the frothy crema atop a
perfectly pulled espresso. The velvety smooth body
marries the rich bitterness of dark cocoa, madagascar
vanilla, espresso, and the crunchy buttery almond cookie
magnificently. Notes of bitter dark chocolate and
espresso linger to the very end of each sip. A true tribute
to the timeless allure of Italian biscotti. Saluti.

THE GARDENER

Wheat Ale with Lavender, Vanilla & Lemon Peel - 5.7%

The Gardener is back and the ultimate Wheat Beer to capture the essence of spring. This unique seasonal is a refreshing and aromatic brew that artfully combines the traditional flavors of a classic wheat beer with bright and zesty notes of 70 pounds of lemon peel, the floral essence of fresh lavender, and the soft sweetness of the vanilla bean. It’s the perfect balance between tart, sweet, and floral that makes it an ideal beer for sipping on these warmer weather days. Cheers.

CRAFTED IN A DIFFERENT REALM

So many of the greatest beers in the world were markers on the journey to brew beer ourselves. They are instructive. They are canon. And we find enjoyment in devoting ourselves to the quest of their honorable replication.

But we also love a good glitch.

Riffing on tradition and interpreting styles in a new way enables us to tilt the board and brew with a twist. It’s our way of exploring the curiosities that make beer a constantly evolving idea.

But we’ll never fully know what lies beyond.

We only ever see the edges of our own world. Impossible glimpses of the universe. We toil away in the dark of new fermentation. We enjoy the anxiety of occasionally working in the realm of chaos, tasting something unexpected, unsettling, and if we try hard enough, maybe even unexplored.

GROWLERS, OR HAPPINESS TO-GO

Miskatonic-Brewing-Company-Beers-21.jpg

A growler is a portable, reusable to-go container for beer. We sell growlers in 64oz and 32 oz. sizes perfect for any occasion.

We happily fill growlers with most of our beers. If the beer has limited availability or is costly to brew, it may not be available in this form.

A few caveats:

  • The growler must be clean whether it’s ours or someone else’s, if it’s stinky, you no drinky.

  • When cleaning it, the best method is to rinse it with hot water as soon after you finish it as you can and let it air dry with the cap off. It’s OK if you lose the cap, we’ll give you a new one.

  • Growlers are not packaged like cans or bottles, they are meant for near-immediate consumption. After you leave with the growler, keep it cold. You can stash it in a fridge, cooler, or growler suit or use a double-walled stainless steel growler.

  • You can keep it this way for a couple of days, 3 at the most. Once you open it, you better finish it! It’s OK, it’s 4 pints, grab a friend or two and you’re good to go.

  • They are PERFECT for sharing at parties, BBQs, tailgates, hiking, backpacking, and the beach (those last two if you get the metal ones!)

DEFRAYAL OF CAPITAL…YOU KNOW, PAYMENT

We do not accept cash, only debit/credit cards for payment. It’s safer for our employees; it’s hard to stick up a hard drive and a modem. It’s also convenient, for us and you. No more stops at the ATM, head right on in. But, we are sorry for any inconvenience.

WHAT’S A DRINK WITHOUT A NOSH?

As a holder of a microbrewery license, we are prohibited from serving food made on our premises. We encourage our patrons to bring food or order from local restaurants for delivery to the taproom. Ask our bartenders for their favorite local bites!

YOU SUNK MY BATTLESHIP!

Feel free to peruse our collection of games. We have modern and classic, mind-numbing and brain-bending, it’s all right there on our game shelves. The inner taproom has a proper British bristle dart board, none of this plastic-tip, quarter-fed electronic stuff. It’s free, gloriously free. Don’t have your own fancy-schmancy darts? No problem, we have darts behind the bar for your airborne missile-based enjoyment.

OTHER RULES OF THE HOUSE

We are pet dog, cat, rat, & bat friendly. We ask you keep Fido/Fifi leashed & next to you. Water bowls will be provided upon request. Milk bones from the bartenders for those good doggies (or other creatures who enjoy a milk bone or two). Our rule is the same be it two- or four-legged patron, “if you behave, you can stay”

We are child- and kid-friendly as well. Soft drinks are available, cause they ain’t gettin’ no suds.

PARKING

Our lot on the North side of the building accommodates 26 cars. We also have an agreement with the building to our north (it is the mirror-image spot to the North of our lot) to park there after 5 pm during the week, and all day on the weekend (please, no moving any of our neighbor’s cones!). There is also street parking available on Wilmette Ave. (the street directly to the East of our building). Please do not park in the Ready, Set, Grow daycare at the end of our parking lot. There is signage there that indicates your car will be towed. We highly encourage you to get a ride with your friends so you can easily find parking and do less damage to our delicate environment.
